The 411
Louisville is a dynamic and growing community. Constantly changing and growing. At Home in Louisville is part of that growth. Below is the 411 on the Louisville metropolitan area.
Museum Plaza
The museum plaza is the next addition to the Louisville skyline. It will change the skyline as it is currently known: Museum Plaza, a $465 million, 62 story urban development will include luxury condominiums, loft apartments, office space, a hotel, retail space, a contemporary arts museum and a three-acre plaza in the iconic "island".
Sharing a public plaza with the Muhammad Ali Center, and linking to the city's award-winning Waterfront Park, residents and visitors will be able to experience a multitude of cultural, museum, and entertainment venues. Visit the Museum Plaza website to learn more and see video clips of the design. (Article reprinted from Louisvilleky.gov Sept. 2007)
Downtown Arena Project
Ground has been broken for a new waterfront arena, with completion expected in 2010. PC Sports LLC, of San Antonio, was hired in September by the Louisville Arena Authority to oversee the entire project, including design and construction of the new state-of-the-art, multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena, and development of a flagship hotel and restaurant.
Construction of the arena is scheduled for summer 2008 on Louisville's waterfront at River Road and 3rd Street. Louisville Gas & Electric Co., one of the property owners, is relocating transmission towers from the site. Visit the Arena Authority website to learn the latest.
